I'm working on a Buffy/Hollows crossover fic. I'm still in the plotting stage but I have a basic timeline written out. I want to see if anybody has any thoughts on this stuff.

I seem to recall Rachel was in the doghouse so to speak with the IS. Was it ever explained why? Did she piss somebody off? Screw up a run?
Also what exactly does a runner do? I always thought they were like a bounty hunter/police officer. Did they handle anything beyond that type of stuff?
Would it be believable that the IS would have a forensics type department? And that it would use computers as well as magic?
It was mentioned in passing in the first chapter (that I read on Kim's site) that wereing outside specified times was illegal. Is this something that was elaborated on more or was it just a random fact that wasn't mentioned again.
Does a runner have to be on a run to have authority? If Rachel saw some witch doing something wrong would she have the authority to stop them?
Thanks in advance for any answers. And of course a lot of this is just opinion but if you have examples from the books do share. :) I haven't read any of the shorts that have come out so I could have missed stuff.

Um, I seem to recall that her boss didn't like her, but I can't remember why, or even if it was mentioned.

That's pretty much it, they're like the cops for the supernatural crowd.

I don't recall it ever being mentioned again. Unless it came up during the whole wolf-statue thing story line and I glazed over it, which since I read all the books back to back is completely possible. :)

When she was working with IS, I'd say that as the equivilent of a cop she'd have a duty to stop any crime she witnessed. Once she went private, I think it would be kind of a grey area. She doesn't really have any official authority anymore, except when she is on a case for FIB, and then only what they allow her.
I'd look for examples in the books, but I loaned them out and don't have them right now. In any case, I really, really want to see a Hallows cross, so get to plotting!
